ATTENTION: IMPORTANT CHANGES
From July 1, 2025, the mLegitymacja (mStudent ID) is available in the mObywatel app as a fully-fledged ID card.
From October 1, 2025, as a newly admitted student, you will be able to activate the mLegitymacja (mStudent ID) in the mObywatel app.
You can add the mLegitymacja (mStudent ID) to your mObywatel using a code generated in USOSweb.
The ELS, or Electronic Student ID (a classic plastic card), is optional.
You can still receive it after submitting an application and paying the fee (PLN 22.00) in USOSweb.
This applies especially to students without a PESEL number.
You can collect the ELS from your dean's office after October 1, when its status changes to active.
You can check the status of the ELS on eStudent.
Existing ID cards, both mobile and physical, remain valid until your graduation date, after being extended by the Dean's Office.
You can use your ID card no longer than your graduation date, suspension from student rights, or removal from the student register.
Please note! If you are a graduate of first-cycle studies, your ID card is valid until October 31st of the year of graduation.
The mLegitymacja works just like a traditional document and contains identical data. The mobile version of the ID card is an additional document that functions in parallel with the traditional electronic student ID card, which remains valid. You can confirm your eligibility for discounts and exemptions by showing the ID card on your phone's screen. The person verifying your identity using the mWeryfikator app can confirm your name and surname, view your photo, and check the validity of your ID card.
How do I add a Student ID card to the mObywatel app?
- After October 1st, generate an activation code in USOSweb.
- Download the mObywatel 2.0 app from Google Play or the App Store.
- Add your first document by selecting "Other Document," then "Student ID." Use the code you received.
- Done! Now you can use your ID on your phone.
If you already have mObywatel 2.0 and use mDowod, log in to the app on your phone. At the top of the home screen, in the "Documents" section, tap "Add." Select "Student ID" from the list. Use the code you received.
Done! Now you can use your ID on your phone.
A few more words about ELS.
Electronic Student ID (ELS) – issued based on an application.
This is a physical plastic card with your information and photo.
Electronic student ID cards are issued to students who apply for them or do not have a PESEL number.
Note: If you are already a student at Poznań University of Technology and have a valid student ID and are taking up a second program of study, you do not need to obtain another one.
You will receive your ID card at the dean's office responsible for your program.
What should you do to become one?
To receive an electronic student ID (ELS), you must meet the following requirements:
- Submit an application for an ELS (soon available in USOS Web)
- Pay a fee of PLN 22.00
- Acquire student rights, which you will receive upon taking the oath through the Admissions system.
The account number to which the transfer should be made is generated individually for each student after logging in to USOSweb, in the FOR ALL tab.
You confirm the validity of your ELS card each semester by placing the hologram in the designated fields on your ID card. You will receive the hologram at your Dean's Office.
What should I do if my ELS card is lost, stolen, or destroyed?
If you have an mLegitymacja card, there is no need to contact the Dean's Office to request a new one. The mLegitymacja card is a fully-fledged document and is treated equally to the ELS card
If you have an ID card (plastic card), you should:
- submit an application in USOSweb for a duplicate card and pay the fee for issuing a duplicate card, which is PLN 33.00.
- You can collect your ELS duplicate card from the Dean's Office when the ELS status changes to "active."
